Magic Keys promises forex traders faster trade management: one key press sizes the position, moves the stop to breakeven or closes part of a trade. The tool comes as a physical keyboard and as an on-screen version, and it works with MetaTrader and cTrader.

This review is desk research, not a hands-on test. We checked the vendor’s product pages, help articles and terms, independent user reviews and free alternatives on 29 September 2026, and we say where each statement comes from. How we research and write is described on our editorial policy page.

Magic Keys in 30 seconds

  • What it does: calculates the lot size from the risk you enter and runs repeated trade actions such as breakeven or partial close with one key; configured exit triggers can run automatically.
  • Two versions: a physical keyboard (V3) for $185, and an on-screen version the vendor advertises at a one-time $37.90. Its refund policy still mentions subscriptions, so check the billing terms before paying.
  • Platforms: MT4, MT5 and cTrader; Windows 64-bit, and natively on macOS 11.5 or later for V3 and on-screen, according to the vendor.
  • User reviews are split: 1.8 of 5 on Trustpilot from 40 reviews, 4.8 of 5 from 208 reviews in the vendor-hosted review collection. Neither is a representative sample.
  • Free alternatives such as EarnForex’s Position Sizer cover risk-based lot sizing.

What is Magic Keys?

Magic Keys is a trade-management tool that calculates position sizes from your risk and carries out repeated trading actions, such as moving a stop or closing part of a position, at the press of a key. It supports MetaTrader and cTrader. It is a trade-management tool rather than a strategy that chooses entries; configured exit actions can run automatically.

The idea is simple: you set how much of your account you want to risk and where your stop goes, and the tool calculates the lot size. Further keys open or close positions, move the stop loss or set take profits. The actual risk still depends on your inputs and on execution, so a quick check of the settings on a demo account is sensible. According to its terms, the site is operated by Marketfluidity in Canada, and hardware ships from the US.

Physical keyboard or on-screen version?

Both versions do the same job; they differ in price, handling and how they target your trading windows. The table sums up the differences the vendor documents for the keyboard and the on-screen window.

Keyboard (V3) On-screen
Price $185 $37.90 one-time as advertised (see below)
Form Aluminum, backlit, wireless Window on your screen
FN keys Yes, you set them None
MT windows Only the one in focus gets orders All open ones get orders
Returns Request within 14 days of receipt; unused, original condition; you pay return shipping Refund only for an unsolvable technical issue
Warranty 1 year for defective products Not stated

Prices and terms as shown on the vendor’s pages on 29 September 2026. Sources: V3 product page, on-screen page, refund policy. These are the vendor’s policies, not a statement of your consumer rights, and the 14-day return is not a free trial.

The window targeting deserves attention. The vendor’s FAQ says that with the physical version only the MetaTrader instance in focus receives commands, while with the on-screen version “all open instances will get the commands and that can lead to unplanned situations.” If you run several MetaTrader windows, for example for different accounts, this matters for order safety.

The on-screen pricing is not consistent on the vendor’s site. The on-screen page advertises a one-time price of $37.90. However, the refund policy still refers to subscriptions. We could not resolve this discrepancy; check the final billing terms before paying.

Compatibility: platforms and systems

Supported (vendor statement)
MetaTrader 4 and 5 Yes
cTrader Yes; a 2024 help article said some Windows functions were still missing on Mac at the time
MetaTrader and cTrader at the same time No
Windows 64-bit required; the FAQ’s Windows requirements exclude Arm computers
Mac V3 and on-screen natively from macOS 11.5
Earlier Magic Keys models On a Mac only via Windows virtualization
Instruments All instruments tradable in MetaTrader or cTrader; the vendor says it tested forex and metals

Check your exact computer and platform before you buy. The vendor lists native macOS 11.5+ support for V3 and on-screen; its reference to Windows virtualization concerns earlier Magic Keys models. The FAQ excludes Arm computers in its Windows requirements and does not clearly specify supported Mac processors. Which trading platforms run on which system in general is covered in our guide to trading laptops, and the guide to trading computers compares a Windows and a Mac mini PC.

How the functions work

According to the vendor’s key description, the functions fall into four groups. We describe them as documented; we have not run them ourselves.

  • Trade calculator: opens two lines on the chart, one for the stop loss and one for the take profit, and calculates the lot size from your inputs. Further keys switch between buy and sell, execute the order or open a further trade whose lot size is recalculated or copied, depending on a setting.
  • Quick actions: set the stop to the entry price, close a chosen share of the position, set the target to a default distance or move stop and target by a number of pips.
  • Automatic triggers: an auto breakeven trigger moves the stop to entry once the trade is a set number of pips in profit; partial take profit triggers close parts of the position at set levels.
  • Chart keys: zoom and time-frame switching; the FN keys can be programmed on the physical version only.

What do users report?

The user reviews for Magic Keys are sharply divided, and where they are published matters. On Trustpilot, the tool scored 1.8 of 5 from 40 reviews on 29 September 2026; 78 percent of them were one-star reviews, and the profile had not been claimed by the company (Trustpilot). The vendor’s own review collection, a Loox widget on its site, shows 4.8 of 5 from 208 reviews overall; that is not the rating of the V3 alone. Neither collection is a representative sample, and not every Trustpilot entry is clearly about a Magic Keys purchase.

Reviews from 2026 are mixed. One reviewer reported on April 9, 2026 that the keyboard never arrived and a refund was refused; another described unanswered support requests on March 2, 2026. A review from March 19, 2026 describes working software and quick support. The most recent review in the vendor’s collection, from September 2, 2026, rates the device 2 of 5 and reports that it stopped working without an answer from support. We could not independently verify these customer experiences.

Positive reviews mainly praise the automation of repetitive input and the risk-based lot sizing. Critical reviews focus on hardware reliability, installation, support and value for money. The vendor runs an affiliate program, so for individual reviews, for example on YouTube, it is worth checking the advertising disclosure.

Alternatives to Magic Keys

Risk-based lot sizing, the core function, is available for free. Here is what the alternatives offer according to their own pages, checked on 29 September 2026; we have not compared them in a test:

Tool Price What it does
EarnForex Position Sizer (MT4/MT5, cTrader) Free, open source Lot size from risk, SL/TP lines, execution, breakeven, trailing stop, several trades with separate take-profit targets
KT Trade Manager EA $45 per platform, $65 for both MT4, MT5: lot size from risk, one-click breakeven, partial close, trailing stop
Myfxbook calculator Free Browser-based position size calculation; not a trade-management tool

MetaTrader itself did not show a risk-based position size calculator in the MT5 help we checked on 29 September 2026. Calculators are available as indicators and scripts, for example in the MQL5 Market. None of these alternatives is a physical keyboard; if the hardware is what attracts you, that is the real difference.

Our assessment

The idea behind Magic Keys is sound: risk-based lot sizing and one-key trade actions are intended to reduce repetitive input. The physical keyboard is the one thing the free software tools cannot offer.

We have not tested Magic Keys ourselves. For traders who mainly need position sizing, a free calculator is a reasonable starting point. The keyboard’s value depends on your workflow. Before buying, confirm compatibility and the purchase terms. We could not independently verify the customer experiences described above.

Frequently asked questions

What is Magic Keys used for in trading?

Magic Keys is a trade-management tool for MetaTrader and cTrader. It calculates the lot size from your risk and runs repeated actions such as breakeven or partial close with one key, as a physical keyboard or an on-screen window.

How much does Magic Keys cost?

The V3 keyboard costs $185 on the vendor’s US store. The vendor advertises the on-screen version at a one-time $37.90, while its refund policy still refers to subscriptions (as of 29 September 2026). Check the final billing terms before paying.

Does Magic Keys work on a Mac?

According to the vendor, the V3 keyboard and the on-screen version run natively on macOS 11.5 or later. Earlier Magic Keys models need Windows virtualization on a Mac. The vendor does not clearly specify supported Mac processors, so confirm your exact Mac and platform before buying.

Why are the Trustpilot reviews so poor?

On 29 September 2026, Magic Keys had 1.8 of 5 from 40 reviews on Trustpilot. Many reviewers report hardware problems, delivery delays and unanswered support requests; some recent reviews are positive. These are user reports, not findings we verified ourselves.
