Karsten Kagels has been in the markets for 46 years. He is the founder, CEO and Head of Trading of Kagels Trading GmbH in Berlin.

He trades forex, futures and stocks as a swing and position trader, across several timeframes. His analysis is based on classical chart technique and clearly named price levels.

From first shares to public forecasts

  1. 1980Karsten buys his first shares. The stock market has held his attention ever since.
  2. 1986He starts trading actively and learns to read the market through its charts.
  3. 2015His forecasts go public on kagels-trading.de, where anyone can check them against what the market did.
  4. 2026The English edition starts: the same method, now for readers outside Germany.

How Karsten analyses a market

Top-down, from the yearly chart

Every market starts on the yearly chart and works down through monthly, weekly and daily charts. The bigger timeframe frames the smaller one.

Exact levels, not vague zones

Support and resistance are named at exact prices, so every forecast can be checked afterwards.

Both scenarios, then a verdict

What has to hold for the bullish case, what has to break for the bearish case, and which one the chart currently favours.

No black box and no signals-for-sale theatre. The reasoning is published, so readers can follow it and check it against the chart.
